As you can see from the photographs the wood has been heavily pruned for maximum productivity. From a firewood point of view this is terrific as it means the wood is particularly dense and will burn and produce excellent charcoal over a very long period. |
The new Apple trees are shown in this photograph on the right hand side - they are now going to be grown exactly the same way as Grapevines. You can see the supports going in which will mean a much more user friendly product with better yields and accessibility. |

With so many of our English Apple Orchards being destroyed and ploughed up for other uses - it is wonderful to see a new Orchard starting. |
This stunning fruit bowl is actually an apple root which has been hollowed out, sanded on the inside and then finished with a coat of varnish. This particular one weighs 10 kilos and at its' widest it is 16" (41cm) by 11" (28cm) tall These will be available for purchase shortly and as each one is totally unique they are all priced individually. |

With all the careful pruning involved in the production of Apples the branch wood is knotty and particularly attractive.
