ASH:
Is this the best firewood? Extract from “The

Excellent burning and produces good charcoal.
For smoking with: light but distinctive flavour.
Good with fish and red meats.

ELM:
Many tales abound on what a poor firewood elm is! We have never had
this problem - it is extremely difficult to split because as the
tree grows it spirals! But this really is superb firewood: very
lightweight, very dense. It doesn't have a showy flame but it is
very hot and will burn a long time. Good to mix with other showier
logs.

BEECH:
It’s said if you cut Beech down before Christmas Day it will be ready to
burn the following Winter! We season our Beech for longer! This is a fantastic
firewood, good heat, showy; plenty of charcoal a heavy, dense wood.
To use for smoking: Good with pork, ham and German style sausages.
